Administrative Data Versus Corrected Administrative Data.

These authors assessed the reliability of variables in a hospital administration database in comparison to case note review, for the calculation of economic outcomes for patients hospitalised with pneumonia. They found no significant differences in calculated economic outcomes and conclude that administrative data are reliable and cost effective for quality assessment in the treatment of pneumonia.
